Releasing Excuses

This is a self-care blog disguised as an obsession with astrology, could you tell yet? It is actually healthy and normal to sync our lives up with the cycles of the moon and nature to better serve our desires. I’ve slowly been coaching us through these phases and transitions since May when spring had sprung. Now we have reached harvest! Tonight is the full moon in Aquarius. Aquarius is an interesting, alien of a sign. A detached air sign, the water bearer caring about the earth and the collective as one, someone not from this planet but here to save us all. I try my hardest to think about these concepts of the sign, attach them to the phase of the moon we are in, and find a shred of overlap with some self-care, coping tactic. I read about this “harvest” moon and staying up under the bright, moonlit sky, picking our harvest. The writing posed what are we choosing to continue, to reap in from the work we put in earlier in the year? For myself, I am going to “reap” a bit of an oxymoron. I am going to choose to hold on to releasing my excuses. It was pointed out to me, by my therapist, that I don’t allow myself to grow and change, and that is why my clients aren’t as supported to grow and change as well. We all share the same energy and the energy I am putting out is not growing! I tried in the early spring to make some big changes in order to use my time in a way that was more nourishing. Now I am back in a stuck place, making a million excuses why it’s “too hard” to change and use my time for all the activities I tell myself I so desperately want to do in order to grow. So, as is common with the full moon, I am choosing to release my excuses that have been holding me back from starting the more positive habits that led me to harvest. I am choosing to hold on to my hopes, dreams, and desires for a more fulfilling life, by pruning back that which no longer serves. I hope this was clear and not too backwards. Merry harvesting, whether that be holding onto and bringing in all that you’ve accomplished over the past two seasons, or pruning back to get more clear and back on track towards your goals. Until next moon!
