Depression
It all begins with an idea.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.

This is your sign
This is your sign
Are you looking for a sign? Well this is it! Now is the perfect time to start therapy. Actually, the perfect time was probably a few weeks or months ago. Most people look for therapy when they are IN CRISIS. We go through a bad breakup, lose our jobs, start re-experiencing trauma, are in the middle of a panic attack, and it’s like I NEED HELP.
Unfortunately, that’s not usually how therapy works. Therapy involves searching for a therapist, maybe checking your insurance benefits, hours scrolling psychology today. And then exiting and saying I’ll do it later. Rinse repeat for a few days or weeks, or until the next CRISIS hits, and finally you reach out to someone.
That next step usually involves sending an inquiry to a therapist and waiting. And I will be honest, I have heard from many people that they never hear back from therapists. That shocks me! I am appalled and sorry on your behalf. I have never understood that standpoint. If a potential client reaches out to me I always reply, even if it is to send resources to help them find another provider.
So you’ve reached out, (hopefully you hear back!), then, if it is like my practice we will schedule a consultation call. Give that another few days or a week and we will chat on the phone to find out if we are a good fit. If you decide to continue on you will request an intake session, another few days to a week away, fill out copious online forms, recheck your insurance benefits, and wait.
So now we could be two weeks or a month(!) away from the CRISIS moment that made you decide it was finally time to get help. Crazy right? So anyways, all that to say, if you didn’t reach out last month, now is the second best time to start therapy.
Maybe you’re scared, maybe you’re unsure if you really need help, maybe you’ve never done this before. If you are here now, if you’re looking, it’s time. You’re ready. And I can promise you, if you start with me, it’s not scary! I’m actually quite friendly. Most of my clients and I spend lots of time laughing together. I enjoy humor and I like to lighten the mood. Yes, we will deep dive into your subconscious and your past, but that’s not all we’ll do and we won’t stay there for long.
The other thing about unearthing our deep, dark feelings is that letting them out actually makes them hurt less. I know it seems crazy, but even just acknowledging our pain, looking at our darkest fears, and sharing with someone how we feel, can provide relief. Let’s go there, let’s look at that thing you’ve been hiding together, move past this stuck place you’re in, and walk out into the light of a bright new day.
There is no time like the present. Let’s get started now. This is your sign, what are you waiting for?
