I am in-network with the above listed insurers. If you are unsure you can call your network and ask if I am a covered provider.
It is always a good idea to check your benefits before we get started. You will want to find out if you have a deductible, how much you have met, what your copayment may be, and if there are any limitations to your benefits. Benefits are never guaranteed until after claims are processed and returned.

Yes! I have an office for in-person sessions, as well as virtual sessions if that is more accessible to your lifestyle.

My office is above the Post Office in Port Townsend. There is a flight of stairs and no elevator, it is a charming historical building! I also see clients virtually throughout the state.

Sessions are supposed to be 55 minutes, although we often use the whole hour.

My focus when I started my career was on teens, and I have experience working with school-aged children throughout the spectrum. When I started my private practice I ended up mostly serving young adults and women. I like to be open to whatever clients feel drawn to work with me. However, I do find I am most effective with motivated and engaged clients, and that is not always how teens feel if they are being put in therapy rather than choosing it themselves.

How long have you been feeling this way? For how many years have you been thinking and responding with the same patterns? Breaking these cycles and learning new ways to interact can take time.
Initial relief can be immediate when starting therapy, and you may resolve your most pressing symptoms within a few months. Some people will be okay with that and move on until something else comes up, other people enjoy having someone to talk to consistently, to build a relationship with, and to get to the root of their issues to make lifelong changes.
Depending on your goals you can choose to work together for a few months or a few years.

First we’ll do a general check-in to see how you are doing and if there is a pressing concern you would like to address. Then we will get into the meat of addressing the main topic for that session, which may include doing a process to address trauma, or getting more information about your thoughts and feelings around an issue. Finally we will decide what “homework” you would like to work on between sessions.
